Two vulnerabilities have been identified in IBM WebSphere MQ, which can be exploited by malicious users to bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.
- The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. edit a users userspace or change permissions on file spaces if a logged-in user visits a malicious web site.
This vulnerability is reported in File Transfer Edition version 7.0.3 and 7.0.4 and Managed File Transfer version 7.5.0. Other versions may also be affected. - An error due to the application not validating access rights can be exploited to download other users files.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires knowledge of the files URL.
