A vulnerability has been identified in Cisco IOS XR, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing certain IP version 6 packets, which can be exploited to cause excessive CPU resources consumption and subsequently reduce the network processing capability by sending specially crafted IP version 6 packets to an affected device.
Successful exploitation requires IP version 6 to be configured.
